Sinestar

 

Sinestar are a four piece, predominantly electronic band from Bristol, United Kingdom. The band formed in January 2011 and consist of Iain Brownlie (Vocals and Electric Guitar), Mark Trueman (Keyboards and Programming), Matt Mohangee (Drums), and James Skuse (Bass).

It was clear from the moment the band stepped out of the studio in mid 2011 and onto the stage, that they had something unique and very special in terms of their writing and live performance execution
Sinestar fuse punchy synths, solid beats and relentless basslines with incredibly evocative, energetic and engaging vocals to create music that is instantly memorable and recognizable. Sinestar’s music demands attention as it takesthe listener by the arm and drags them through a journey of the bands soundscape.

Since forming in early 2011, Sinestar have released three EP’s entitled “I am the rain” (2012), ”Hope and Prey” (2013) and a very Limited edition physical EP “Running Home” (2014) plus their only 2014 single “The Same Way” (produced by Richard Silverthorn of Mesh).

Sinestar independently released their Debut album “Singularis” in December 2013 and are currently working on their second album scheduled for release in Autumn 2015.

Since the band formation they have gone from strength to strength winning new fans in UK, Europe and acriss the world following their incredible live performances on the festival and gig scene.
Sinestar’s 2014 Single “The Same Way”, and Sinestar’s Singularis Album track ‘Butterflies’ were voted into the top 3 of no less than five independent electronic ‘music of the year listener polls’ across the independent radio and pod cast community.
In addition to imminent new album and singles material, 2015 will witness the band playing to an ever increasing live fan base within UK and Europe. Sinestar have gigs penciled in supporting Covenant (Bristol), Festival appearances at Silicon Dreams Liverpool, as well as several headline slots within the UK and abroad.

Sinestar are first on the list of artists that other electronic bands would like to collaborate with, having worked on recent material with Richard Silverthorn (Mesh), IPop Delux with Shelter & Erasures Andy Bell with several other secret collaborations currently ‘work in progress’.

The band take their influences from many different genres and styles from the past five decades to create a sound which is uniquely and unmistakably their own.
