Peter Steer and Geoff Pinckney formed the electronic band tenek from Sussex/Essex (UK) in June of 2007.

Since then, they have produced and released 2 albums and 8 Singles/EP’s. tenek are all about hard grinding electro grooves, a power house of classic British synthesizer pop and stabs of driving guitar. Producing a unique crossover which is credible and satisfying to both the cult electro scene and yet retaining a mass market appeal through the their melodies and hooks.

This high energy band continues to have a considerable following in the UK, Europe and Russia and have toured with artists such as: John Foxx, Gary Numan, Toyah, The Human League, Republica, De/Vision, A Flock Of Seagulls, Iris and Assemblage 23…

tenek – Higher Ground

‘Higher Ground’ is a track from Tenek’s second critically acclaimed album ‘On The Wire’ which was also featured on EP2. The unexpected grainy and quick editing style of this video, adds an instant intrigue. Filmed on a very cold February morning at the Coalhouse Fort in East Tilbury by Sim Films (Directed and Produced by Simone Harris, Edited by Chris Plant).

2013 In recent news…. Early March of 2013 was the release of the band’s third EP ‘Another Day’ on their own label (Alien Six Productions) to coincide with their tour with Republica (UK). April / May the band performed at a new synth-based music event “i-Synth I” in Lille, France. And was invited back to Basildon (UK) to perform at the ‘BAS 2013’ festival opening for the main act, Heaven 17! Early October brought the digital release of the ‘Tenek vs The Last Cry’ feat Julianne Regan (All About Eve) EP in aid of The Sophie Lancaster Foundation. Which was the band’s second label release (Alien Six Productions). Ending the year, tenek was special guest band for the De/Vision “25 Years Best Of Tour” (Germany).

2014 Spring of 2014 the band will have a headline performance in London, as well as having been invited back for the second year running to perform at ‘i-Synth II’ (Lille, France). Summer, tenek will be busy with more live performances at: Silicon Dreams Festival (Liverpool, UK), as well as participating at a new alternative festival “Alt-Fest” (Northamptonshire, UK). *Currently, the band is busy working on their third album “Smoke and Mirrors” (release date TBA). In addition to live performances, tenek continues to be involved with music licensing to various industries.
